On August 31, 1977, Casey Martinez was born in Kansas City, Missouri. Casey is currently 44 years old and has retired from professional baseball.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected Casey in the 47th round of the amateur draft in 2000. He spent three seasons in their system, briefly reaching AAA, before finishing his career with a year with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Marinez spent his first summer as a pro with the Medicine Hat Blue Jays and the Queens Kings. In 2001, he played for the Charleston AlleyCats, Syracuse Chiefs, and Dunedin Blue Jays, splitting his time between the three teams.

In 2002, he played for the Tennessee Smokies, Charleston, and Dunedin. He was a member of the Lakewood Blue Claws and Clearwater Phillies in 2003.

Buck Martinez Illness: What Happened To Him? 

Buck Martinez stated on Twitter that he has been diagnosed with cancer and will begin treatment in the coming weeks.

According to Buck, the Blue Jays’ series finale against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday was his final game. In his statement, he wrote, “Today will be my last game in the booth for a little while.”

Buck will face numerous hurdles as he steps away from the broadcast booth to obtain treatment. Many individuals have expressed their love and support for him and his family and sent him messages of courage.

The seasoned announcer has been associated with the Blue Jays since 1981 when he began a five-year run as a catcher with the organization.

He had a 17-year Major League Baseball career, which included stints with the Kansas City Royals and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Who Will Replace The Manager? 

The Toronto Blue Jays’ manager will not be replaced, but a competent candidate will undoubtedly fill Buck Martinez’s vacant broadcasting booth.

Buck Martinez and Arlene Martinez met in January 1971 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Arlene Martinez was on vacation with her friend Debbie while he was playing baseball for Cangrejeros de Santurce in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

They had recently graduated from high school and were relaxing at the beach.

Today, after 46 years of marriage, they are still going strong. On July 14, 1975, he tied the knot in Kansas City. At present, they live in New Port Richey, Florida.
