Caitriona Calfe’s career began as a model for an agency that approached her while she was collecting money for charity at a local shopping center. After working as a model in Dublin for a few months, she drew the eye of a visiting Ford Models scout at the age of 18 and was offered to work for them in Paris.

Moreover, Balfe was regarded as one of the top twenty most in-demand models in the world during the height of her career.

Balfe appeared in the 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada as an employee of the magazine Runway while living in New York.
